So we started the day by having
breakfast with the things we bought the day before we took a shower and left.
The objective was to go up the mountain by
lift to see the views.
Going up and down was 18 lei by adult.
We arrived on the top and followed a
local couple that seem to know where they were going. We fought they were going
to a sightseeing site.... but no.
They went to the huge Romanian flag to take a picture
...the flag was surrounded by trees and we couldn't see anything .... Well back
to the path we came up. Then we decided to go around the house...its not worth
it.... there is nothing.
Follow the arrows...go straigth to the
right after you leave the building.
Find Belvedere directions... You will
find yourself behind the brasov letters and see a magnific view of the city
and surroundings.
If you have time you can adventure on the
wood paths. We didnt.... so we went back down.
We had to get our rental car at Autonom so
we had to hurry up.
So we found Autonom very easy.
The guy
was impecable he explained everything and he spoke spanish and English. It was our first car rental.
He also showed us in the map other
regions of Romania that people usually dont go to see but are worth it. The
north was one of these regions.
I also commented that the Romanians and
portuguese were very similar. Faces, habits.. I felt at home.
He said ... Well after all we are all latinos...
The car he rented us was a skoda
octavia.
We started our voyage to Peles at 12.00. We saw the police saying something to some drivers but we thougth it was some
kind of information opeartion.
We did not stop ...we went to the road that would take us to Peles trough the mountains.
Impressive, green ..just beautiful . O...k all was going well when ... a
traffic jam ... What was happening ...an accident...?
We saw two ambulances passing
by .Perhaps it was ..that but it wasnt. It was sunday everyone was on the street
it caused a very big traffic jam. One hour trip became a 2 hours and 30 minutes
trip...the plans to go to Peles and Bran was ruined. we would just see Peles
There are many polices controlling the
traffic otherwhise it would be a caos
We arrived at Peles and we parked at a
official park for 5 lei all day Near the palace
Its the park on the way down to the
palace on the right. A guy gives you directions where to go.
Going down by foot we arrive at magical
site of mansions. It reminds me of sintra in Portugal but better preserved. We
stopped to eat our slices of pizza, Fanta, and vanilla ring-covrigi that we bought at the same bakery as yesterday GIGI's. Things to gives us energy.
We went to a grand gate ino the palace
compound. The palace in Sight with the romanian flag half poll because Queen Ana just died and was buried.
We went closer and uauuuu. The
palace, the trees, the mountains the statues...
Very beatiful indeed. The ticket office
is in a inner square and we bought the 50 lei ticket that allowed us to visit to go up to
the 1st floor has well with one guide.
The other ticket only allows the ground
floor.
The visit is with a guide... We have to
wait in line until someone opens us the door and lets in a large group.
There are two lines one for english and
one other for other languages.
Because the spanish tour already had started we
went with english one. When they open the door
we enter a room where we have to place shoes plastic protection. The guide
arrives trough a door and take us to a
magnificent hall trough a staircase and the first explication is done in
a hall that goes up all the floors and ends in a stain glass .
The kings were german born and they were
the first romanian kings. The palace was built to be the summer residence
between may and september.
The kings had one daughter but she died at
the age of 5 with the fever.
The king then adopted his nephew that
later would be king.
I leave the rest to the guides... When
you visit.
The guides were amazing. I dont remember
their names :)
We started with the guide in english
that was a woman. And finish with the spanish guide that was a guy
She had a lot of patient withe the
group. There was a very irritant italian man ...
He said to her it would be great if you
spoke in italian
She answered ... Why dont you speak
romanian...
After all she is right he was in
romania.
She finish saying ... After the
presentation .. By the way i also speak italian. i though it was so a great answer. Some of you may not think that but the tour was in english.
We went on with the visit and then we
catch the spanish tour. Imeddiatly without she seeing we changed guides. We
asked him if we could he said yes. The group was very funny. Ok they were
spanish.
The tour i leave to the guides. I just
tell you that is worth it.
We decided to got o Bran just to see where it was, the schedules and prices. So we did. When we arrived the castle was closed. we took a coffee and went back to brasov.
